As well as her fitness videos Nell is a keen athlete running at a very competitive level with a race time of 3 hours 10 minutes for the London Marathon, and 20 minutes for the Flora Light 5km Challenge. Nell appeared in the first ever ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’. She has presented many programmes including ‘Racing Rivals’ for ITV, boxing documentary ‘Born to Fight’ for UK Horizon, ‘It’s A Knockout’, and fitness tips for ‘The Big Breakfast’. She appeared as Dale Winton’s bride for 'Dale’s Wedding’ on BBC1 and BBC3, and ‘Celebrities Under Pressure’ for ITV1. She also hosted the 'MOBO Unsung Awards 2003'. Nell dedicates a lot of time and work to various charities, resulting in her being voted ‘Yorkshire Woman of the Year 2003’ for her work for charity. She raised £60k from ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ which she donated to Cancer Research UK. She raised £50k from running the 2004 London Marathon which was shared between 4 charities: Cancer Research UK, The Lymphoma Association, DEBRA and SSAFA. She completed the ‘Race for Life’ for Cancer Research UK and the ‘Playtex Moon Walk’ for Breast Cancer. And as the ‘Forces Sweetheart’, Nell continues to visit our armed forces all over the world. Her visits have included HMS Ark Royal, Northern Ireland, Germany and Iraq and many RAF bases. Her visit to the troops in the Gulf during the Iraq war gained her a commendation by the Queen. In 2006 Nell became a mother to baby boy Devon. |
